MOTS-C

Metabolism & Longevity

Harnesing Cellular Energy

MOTS-c stands out in the world of peptides as a mitochondrial-derived peptide (MDP), meaning it is encoded by the mitochondrial genome, unlike most other peptides. This unique origin places it at the very core of cellular energy regulation. MOTS-c preserves mitochondrial function and cell viability, especially under stressful conditions, by sending signals within the cell or acting as a cytoprotective factor. Its profound impact on metabolic signaling makes it a promising agent for addressing issues related to muscle and fat physiology.

Kettlebell

A Breakthrough in Metabolic Health

MOTS-c has demonstrated significant potential in optimizing metabolic functions, which is crucial for overall health and wellness. Low levels of MOTS-c have been associated with higher BMI, increased waist circumference, and high A1c levels, highlighting its importance in metabolic regulation.

Insulin Sensitivity: MOTS-c improves insulin sensitivity and helps the body turn glucose into energy more efficiently at the mitochondrial level, making it a key peptide for addressing Type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance.

Fat Metabolism: It enhances fat oxidation, increases energy expenditure, and decreases fat accumulation by promoting thermogenic activation in adipose tissue.

Lipid Profile: MOTS-c helps lower triglycerides and reduces lipids through the AMPK pathway, contributing to a healthier cardiovascular system.

Liver Health: The peptide has been shown to decrease hepatic steatosis (fatty liver).

Longevity Performance & Beyond

The benefits of MOTS-c extend beyond metabolism, playing a role in healthy aging and physical enhancement. Since MOTS-c levels naturally decline with age, supplementation can be a powerful strategy for maintaining vitality.

Longevity: By regulating aging processes, MOTS-c may help delay the onset of age-related diseases. It also boosts the production of NAD+, a critical coenzyme for cellular health and longevity.

Physical Performance: It is known to enhance endurance and exercise capacity, allowing for improved physical performance.

Cardiovascular and Bone Health: MOTS-c offers cardiovascular protection and supports osteoporosis treatment and prevention by playing a role in the synthesis of Type 1 collagen by osteoblasts in bone tissue.

  • It is important to understand that the landscape of peptide regulation is mixed. While some peptides have undergone rigorous testing and are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), like GLP1s and Tesamorelin for specific medical conditions, a significant number of others have not been evaluated. The use of peptides that have not been evaluated and approved by the FDA, or the use of FDA-approved peptides for purposes other than their specified indication, is known as 'off-label' use.

  • Peptides not intended for human use, often marketed as "research peptides," pose significant health risks. These products are not subject to the same quality control and safety standards as those produced by 503A compounding pharmacies.

The primary dangers of peptides that do not come from 503A compounding pharmaciaes include:

Contamination: These products can be contaminated with harmful substances, including heavy metals, bacteria, or other unknown compounds. This is due to a lack of regulation in their manufacturing process.

•Lack of Lab Regulation: The laboratories producing these peptides are not required to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), which are the standards the FDA requires for pharmaceutical production. This means there is no guarantee of the product's purity, potency, or even its identity.

•Increased Cancer Risk: Some contaminants or impurities in unregulated peptides could have carcinogenic properties, potentially increasing the risk of cancer with long-term use.

  • Our pricing reflects our commitment to safety and quality. We exclusively use peptides from 503A compounding pharmacies. These pharmacies are regulated by the FDA and are held to strict standards for quality and purity.

Our medical team will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan and monitor your progress to ensure your safety and the effectiveness of the therapy. This comprehensive approach provides a safe and effective framework for peptide therapy.

  • The FDA has approved a number of peptide drugs for various medical applications. Some examples include:

•GLP-1 agonists (e.g., semaglutide, liraglutide): Used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity.

•GHRH (Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone) analogs (e.g., tesamorelin): Used to treat lipodystrophy in HIV patients.

•Calcitonin: Used for the treatment of osteoporosis.

•Insulin: A well-known peptide hormone used to treat diabetes.

This is not an exhaustive list. The field of peptide therapeutics is rapidly evolving, with new peptides gaining FDA approval. During your consultation this information is covered by your medical provider.

FDA Disclaimer: It is important to note that while some peptides are approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for specific medical uses, many others are not. The use of non-approved peptides or the use of approved peptides for conditions other than what they were approved for is known as "off-label" use. In off-label use the safety and efficacy for that specific use have not been established by the FDA.
